Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Veridicta is built to be handed a confidential, unpublished document. This page states plainly what happens to that document - and, just as important, what never happens to it.
What we do with your document
When you run a scan, Veridicta extracts the citations and quotations from your text and checks them against public bibliographic databases. The verification runs in memory to produce your result.
The live service is stateless. We do not maintain a database of your documents. Your uploaded or pasted text is processed for the duration of the scan and is not retained on our servers afterwards. We do not keep a copy of your file.
If we later introduce optional saved scan history, any stored document text will carry a defined retention window of 24 hours by default, after which it is deleted, and you will be able to delete it sooner on demand. We will update this page before enabling any such storage.
The certificate carries no document text
A Source-Verification Certificate is a self-contained, signed token. It carries only the summary of the result (counts, scores, and the short snippets of any flagged items) - never your full document. The shareable /verifylink contains the certificate itself; we do not store it, and anyone you don’t send the link to cannot see it.
Who else ever sees a fragment of your text
We name every third party, and exactly what reaches them:
- Crossref, OpenAlex, arXiv (citation databases) - receive the citation strings (titles, authors, DOIs) we look up. They do not receive your surrounding prose. These are free, public scholarly databases.
- Anthropic (the Claude API) - receives text only if you explicitly opt in to the assistive claim- grounding check (it is off by default). In that case the relevant claim and source excerpt are sent to generate the analysis. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through its API.
- Vercel (our hosting provider) - serves the application. Standard request logs apply; we do not place your document contents in logs.
What we collect about you
The demo and scan require no account and no sign-up. We do not sell personal data. When billing is enabled, payment is handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we never see or store full card numbers.
Evidence, not an oracle
A verification result is evidence for a human reviewer, not a verdict on the truth or quality of your document. Absence of a matching source is a prompt to review, not proof that a source is fake. Final judgment always rests with you.
Using Veridicta does not create any professional, legal, or attorney-client relationship, and does not create or preserve privilege.
